What's Up Doc?

The Spice House in Chicago

on Sun, 06/14/2009 - 13:30

Below are a few pictures from our trip to the Spice House in Chicago which I have been hearing about for a while. Today was perhaps not the best day to peruse as there were a million people in there for the Wells Street Fair but I will go back soon.

What's in Your Local Store

on Fri, 06/12/2009 - 13:30

Just went on a quick jaunt to the grocery store, specifically Trader Joe's, to stock up on food supplies for the weekend as well as some basics.

Healing Wines and Liquors

on Tue, 06/09/2009 - 13:30

Alcohol (wine, liquor, etc) was a prescribed medicinal long before it arrived in a martini glass. I can see how people might potentially get rather excited about healing with alcohol, it would be oh so convenient! Perhaps the whole concept of medicine brings to mind sterile green hued rooms, uncomfortable exams, or poor tasting pills and tinctures and that's why a healing wine might seem to come in extra handy in the midst of all this poking and prodding.

Creating in the Kitchen

on Mon, 06/08/2009 - 13:30

on Sun, 06/07/2009 - 13:30

on Sat, 06/06/2009 - 13:30

on Thu, 06/04/2009 - 13:30

We all contain approximately 250 grams of salt in our bodies, which would fill anywhere from 2-4 small containers depending on their size. Just this simple fact should tell you that you/we/all of us, need salt. As a main component of the body's

The Mongolian Garlic Crusher

on Wed, 06/03/2009 - 13:30

I promised a long time ago that I would write about the Mongolian Garlic Crusher and have decided to do it now, since my salt posting is taking some time - there's just too much to write about salt and I want to give you as much salty juice as possible on my favorite mineral when it's properly done.

Salt Posting Coming!

on Mon, 06/01/2009 - 13:30

For those of you that have not contemplated salt, where it comes from, what it should look (and taste) like, where to get it, what it does for you medicinally, I've done a lot of this the last few years and would love to share. Besides being quite addicted to chilies, one of my other loves is salt.

Grandma's Recipes Part One

Since I've gotten a decent set of responses from people all over the world in regards to my request for "recipes your grandma or someone gave you such as chicken soup for a cold", I am going
