What Water Tastes Like

I love water but I don't think about it enough. I don't spend time tasting it though I remember the specific moments when it actually tastes delicious or tastes bad. In between the delicious and the bad there is a lot of murkiness. Two thirds of our bodies are composed of water.

Garlic Scapes Just Arrived!

A little emergency posting here as I just got some lovely garlic scapes (pictured above) from the farmers market and they are pretty much on their way out as they are usually only available in early summer (along with young green garlic) when they nip

Watermelon rind, the white bit that is often thrown away after you cut off the juicy red bit, is a TCM medicinal and is delicious to boot.

Gin, Ginger, and Lemongrass

If you want want to drink a cocktail that is refreshing and (technically) healthy, then go for a gin, ginger, and lemongrass cocktail this summer! Gin was originally brewed as a medicinal liquor. You can make your ginger flavored gin from scratch by infusing your gin with fresh slices of ginger or you can just simply buy a tasty ginger ale brand, mix one part of gin with 3 parts ginger ale, one stick of lemon grass, and a splash of fresh lime juice and you're all set!
